Here is some information about me:
I am research fellow at the ICT&S Center, University of Salzburg. I am teaching at the department of communication science since the winter term 2007 (see below a list of my current and previous courses).
I have studied communication science at the University of Salzburg where I received a BA in 2004 and an MA in 2006. Besides studying in Salzburg, I’ve attended several international courses in Switzerland (2005), the United States (2006), and Estonia (2008). Throughout the summer of 2009 I was visiting scholar at the iSchool, University of Washington – a very beautiful and inspiring campus in Seattle.
Since 2004 I support the research activities in the field of Internet and Society at the ICT&S Center, University of Salzburg. My research topics revolve around free, libre, and open source software (FLOSS), social software, and science-technology-studies. I am also interested in grassroots politics/activism and how technologies can be used to support political participation. I have written several publications (see here for a full list) and gave presentations at conferences (here for more information).
More information on my academic background and current research can be found here.
